Why business was growing
Business started growing when Edwin L. Drake discovered oil in Pennsylvania. People figured out all of the useful tings it could do and everybody wanted it.
How Did His Business Grow?
He made his business bigger buy buying most of the oil refineries in Cleveland and many other large cities. He also used a method called horizontal integration where he combined Competing business's into his own starting his oil monopoly.
How did the Government restrain this?
Congress passed the Sherman Antitrust Act that prohibited all Trusts and monopolies.
Rockefeller could no longer grow his business by using trusts or joining companies.
