Arrival and Dismissal Procedures on the Skyview/Arcola Campus
We look forward to welcoming students back to campus. Please note the following information regarding arrival and dismissal procedures for the Arcola/Skyview campus.
General Information
Please observe the one-way traffic pattern (clockwise) on campus.
Car Rider drop-off/pick-up is in the front of the Arcola/Skyview.
Buses will drop-off in the back of Arcola/Skyview.
Please obey directions given by campus security guards.
Methacton School District will be eliminating the practice of allowing “Guest Riders” on a bus. A “Guest Rider” is an individual who is riding home on a bus that is not their assigned bus. There are several reasons for why this change is being made; Covid-19, overcrowding and safety.
Arrival/Dismissal times:
Arcola/Skyview doors open at 8 a.m. - the late bell rings at 8:15 a.m., students are expected to be “in class” whether virtual or hybrid.
Bus Dismissal at 3 p.m. and 3:05 p.m.
Car Riders will be dismissed at 3:10 p.m.
Arrival
Bus Arrival
Students will be greeted by staff on duty who will assist students in getting to homeroom Skyview) and first period (Arcola).
Students will travel inside hallways to their locations (they may not run outside between parking lots.)
Car Arrival
Students remain in cars until building doors open at 8 a.m.
Vehicles will pull up along the curb in front of the buildings.
Please maintain a single line.
Students are to exit using the car door(s) closest to the curb. Drivers are not to exit vehicles.
Students enter at their appropriate school door (Arcola or Skyview).
This area will be supervised by staff on duty.
Dismissal
Bus Dismissal
Buses will follow a 2-tiered dismissal (3 p.m. and 3:05 p.m.)
Students with a bus in the “Arcola” lot will be walked to that area by staff.
Students will travel inside hallways to their locations (they may not run outside between parking lots.)
Bus areas will be monitored by on-duty staff.
Car Dismissal
Dismissal for students being picked up will be at 3:10 p.m.
Students will be dismissed from the front doors of Arcola and Skyview. Adults will be on duty in this area to assist students with locating their ride.
As Skyview students are younger, the following additional procedures will be in place:
Skyview students who are a daily (every day) pick up do not need a daily note; homeroom teachers will have a list of these daily car riders and will supply them with their “daily car rider slip”. Skyview Families who intend to pick up their student every day are asked to complete this google form: https://forms.gle/EWo8UQyywMkkDNKU9
Please complete this form no later than Sunday, November 8.
Families of daily (every day) car riders will receive a hang tag for their car - please display this tag with your child’s name. This will help our staff on duty to assist students.
Students who are periodic car riders must bring a note on the day they will be going to parent pick up. These notes will be collected and students provided a daily car rider pass for dismissal. For example,if you pick your child up on Tuesdays and Thursdays you must send a note on these days for your child to receive his/her car rider daily pass.
Please take care when pulling out to leave the pick up line.
“Walkers” - from the Reopening Guide for Students and Families (MSD 10/17/20) (link here)
We understand that some students would like to walk home versus ride a bus home; however, this can present a challenge due to the required crossing of heavily traveled roads. Therefore, Methacton School District will only permit Walkers from Skyview or Arcola that live within the boundaries as shown in Exhibit A. These individuals will be required to provide the Building Administration with a signed permission slip daily in order to walk home. While providing a permission slip daily seems like a lot, it does allow the Building Administration to know who is to be on a bus and who is allowed to walk home. We cannot assume that because a student walked home a prior day that this is still the parent’s/guardian’s desire every day.
Permission will not be granted for crossing Eagleville Road or Sunnyside Road.
Students will turn in the permission slip to the main office for a daily walker pass to be issued.

Art Class at Skyview
Mrs. Roese (Skyview Art Teacher) will be teaching her classes from home during the hybrid program. The district plans to assign a proctor to Mrs. Roese's classes to monitor and provide assistance to students while Mrs. Roese teaches virtually. We wanted to share this information with you prior to the first day of the hybrid program. Thank you for your support.
