Mr. Phillips Message
Hello WRJH Families:
I hope everyone has enjoyed the holiday season and is well rested. As we have welcomed back the students to WRJH, I wanted to share with you that they have been doing a great job this week and we are so excited to be back working with them!
Traditionally, January and February are the hardest months of the year. The weather is not the greatest, cold and flu season is in full swing and everyone gets a little stir crazy. We have spent this week meeting with each grade level about school and classroom expectations, but I encourage you to have conversations with your students about your expectations. Additionally, we are only months away from the Ohio State tests and our focus will be on making sure that every student is in the best position to be successful. We are offering support services, tutoring, and our teachers will be working directly with your students to challenge them and help them grow to reach their full potential. If you notice your student is struggling, please reach out to us so that we can work together to help them.
Winter sports are in full swing and I hope that you are able to come and watch our Basketball teams and our Wrestlers sometime this month.

OATES CORNER
Welcome back WRJH Families. I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break! It was so wonderful getting to see the students come back. We held assemblies for each grade level to talk about expectations for this quarter. One of the focuses we are having this quarter is grades. We have many students who have struggled during quarter one and two, and quarter three we are challenging students to get their grades up. We will be having one on one conversations with students to help them set goals. Our quarter three incentive we will be going Roller Skating! I can't wait! I also had the privilege of going to see the 8th grade girls basketball team play this week. I am SO proud of our 7th and 8th grade girls who are undefeated!! I snapped a few shots during the game. Let's Go Raiders! I hope that this quarter we can continue to help students be respectful, responsible, and safe. Thank you for all you do!

WRJH TUTORING - IN PERSON
FREE ONLINE TUTORING FOR ALL RCS STUDENTS
PAPER- 24/7 Tutoring Services
PAPER is a secure, online tutoring service that provides students with unlimited, 24/7 academic support. Whether they’re stuck on homework, studying for a test, or need someone to read and make suggestions to their essays, there will always be experts available online to assist students in over 200 subjects and more than four languages.
PAPER tutors have been specially trained to conduct expert, academic support in a secure, chat-based platform. With a commitment to helping students learn, they’ll never give students answers, but rather interact with them in an encouraging tone to lead them forward.
This is a free service that we’re providing, so students are encouraged to use it as much as they need, whenever they need. Our teachers also have accounts and will be able to review all student activity to see what they’re working on and provide more targeted instruction as needed.
If you’d like to learn more about PAPER you can sign up for a PAPER hosted Parent Info Session, available in both English and Spanish. Or if you’d like to speak to a member of the PAPER team directly, you can reach them at parents@PAPER.co.
To see PAPER and the help it offers firsthand, we encourage you to login with your child(ren). Students will access PAPER on the student portal and use their CLEVER login to access PAPER.
We’re thrilled to offer our students the unlimited, 24/7 support that PAPER provides and we can’t wait to see what we’re able to accomplish together.
Bereavement Outreach Program
OhioHealth Bereavement Services is offering school-based, grief group support services for teens who have experienced the death of a friend or family member.
Sessions include supportive discussions and expressive commemorative projects that help young people identify and express their feelings, honor and remember their loved ones, and develop healthy strategies to navigate their grief.
An OhioHealth bereavement counselor will meet with students for approximately 6 to 8 sessions as part of the School Outreach Program. The program is currently grant supported and there is no fee for the school or the family.
If you are interested in your child participating in this group. Please reach out to Sam Heedy at Samantha.Heedy@reyn.org for more information.
