What Is Malware?

Malware is any malicious software that a person has created as a way of harming others devices.

Types of Malware

Viruses: Viruses are programs designed to copy themselves and delete systems to make room for their growth. They spread through contact (as in going to a site or clicking a link) to spread from computer to computer.

Trojan Horses: These are programs that latch on to seemingly legitimate programs that when you allow or enter into create passageways into your computer to allow others access into it.

Spyware: Spyware is a program that secretly obtains personal information. These programs usually require permission from the user in forms of entering into a sight, clicking links, etc.

The Defensive

In order to avoid malicious software there are three things you can do.

1. Use Antivirus software! This will protect you from the nasty bugs that try to slip into your computer through the virtual stream of information.

2. Use Firewalls! This takes care of Trojans as they bar access to secondary sights without user permission.

3. Use you head! Common sense is the best defense against anyone with less than good intentions.
