Even though we will be keeping busy with Cookie Booth Sales - there are several events out there that would be both fun and educational for the girls.
Please let me know if you are interested in attending any of these events - they tend to fill up fast (before the deadline). The deadline for registration is listed for each of them.
Spa Night

Come and relax during a fun night at the spa. You will move from station to station that includes pampering your nails, hair, and eyes. Listen to soothing music and learn yoga moves. We will also have a silent auction (need not be present to win). Dress in your most comfy attire and get spoiled!
Cost: $5 per person and $1 per patch

Disney on Ice
Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic

Pinewood Derby

Don't let the boys have all the fun!
Pinewood Derbies are fun for all ages and all scouts! Use this opportunity to introduce STEM to your scouts or as a Father/Scout project for our troop. Girls make derby cars from a block of pine ahead of time and will race against other area Girl Scouts. If you don't want to focus on speed make a car, design yours for one of the voting categories: Most Creative, Most Patriotic, Fastest Looking car and Best use of Girl Scout Promise/Law.
$11 per Girl Scout Racer, $5 per Friends and Family Racer
Registration ends March 26th; Derby is Saturday, April 9th
Racing begins at 10:00am, car check-in/inspection starts at 9:00am and race times will be provided by rank in email after registration is completed.
Trophies will be awarded to Top 3 in each rank and Top 3 overall. 4 fun voting categories for Most Creative, Most Patriotic, Fastest Looking car and Best use of Girl Scout Promise/Law will also receive trophies. Each scout racer will receive a fun patch & a ticket for a slice of pizza.
Additional Pizza will be sold by the slice for non Girl Scout Racers.

Directions for purchasing a kit, rules (we are using the local Boy Scout Great Lakes FSC rules), and helpful hints, will be emailed upon registration.
Earth Day for Daisies & Brownies

Bring a snack and Come celebrate EARTH DAY! Enjoy a guided nature hike and complete a community service project at For-Mar. Daisy Girl Scouts will earn their Rose Petal and decorate grocery bags with Make the World A Better Place messages that will impact others. Brownies will work on their Household Elf badge & decorate grocery bags with messages about ways to save energy, save water & practice the 3 r’s. The cost is $5 a girl and additional costs for adults and non-registered guests

Brownie Imagination Pioneer IP Patch Workshop

In this fun and exciting workshop you will learn to identify Trademarks and design your own, create your own Copyrighted piece of work, and more! Intellectual Property (IP) refers to creations of the mind: inventions, books, art, and symbols used to promote products or services. The IP workshop will show you the tools that allow inventors to benefit from their inventions while also sharing them with others. Girls will also get to tour the USPTO after the workshop!
Girl Scout Brownies will participate in hands-on activities to earn and receive their IP Patch, which was developed as a joint partnership between Girl Scouts Nations Capital and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The event fee is $5.00/girl and includes all supplies, a snack, and patch.

Brownie Pottery Workshop

Crafts made with clay have been around for thousands of years. People who study history have found ancient clay art and everyday objects. Girl Scout Brownies are invited to tour the Pewabic gallery, and create clay pieces under the supervision of Pewabic's professional artists and educators. Pieces will be available for pick-up from the Detroit Service Center 4-6 weeks after completion -- registrants will be contacted to arrange for pick-up.

Princess Tea Party

Join us in a fun afternoon tea party for your troop and/or friends! Come learn some princess etiquette, photo with a princess, crafts, swapping of swaps and more. Come dressed in clothes that make you feel like a princess for the afternoon. We will be serving snacks, tea, and lemonade.

Girl Scout Day at Comerica Park

Bring your family and CHEER on the Detroit Tigers as they take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Game time is 1:08 pm.
Girl Scout troops (registered girl members and troop leaders) will have the opportunity to participate in the pre-game parade on the field!
*All participants in the parade must purchase a ticket to the game.
*No tagalongs allowed on the field in the Girl Scout parade.
Watch for more information to follow on ticket prices and sign up for the pre-game parade.
GSSEM will receive a donation from the Detroit Tigers for every ticket purchased through the "Girl Scout Day" special event package.
