Welcome to 5th Grade!
We hope that you had a relaxing and enjoyable break, but unfortunately, summer is coming to a close. Now, it's time to look forward to a new adventure, 5th GRADE!!!!! The 5th grade team has been working diligently to get ready for the best school year ever. We are excited to meet each one of you and have fun while learning new 5th grade skills.

Tips and Tricks for a Smooth Year
- Attendance is extremely important for all class connects. In 5th grade, you will have live classes in ELA, Math, Science and Writing.
- Create a family schedule so everybody knows when students are in class connects
- Come prepared! Cook, eat, use the restroom, feed animals, do chores, run errands before/after class connects.
- Email all teachers (Homeroom, Interventionist, SpEd) when the student will be absent.
- Watch recordings of class connects missed. Here is a helpful video to demonstrate how to access recordings through the OLS.

- All OLS (Online School) lessons require 80% Mastery for completion. The video below demonstrates a lesson that has not been marked complete because it was not mastered by the student.

- It is highly encouraged students have 4 notebooks (simple one subject notebooks are perfect) so that they may take notes in Math, Reading, Writing and Science classes.

- August 11th: Learning Coach Orientation (refer to your OLS schedule for your session time)
- August 12th: Back to School Bash (more details to come)
- August 15th: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!
- August 29th: First Day of Star Assessment
- September 5th: Labor Day - No School
