Picking Up Your Child During School Procedures
If you need to pick your child up early from school, please follow these early dismissal procedures:
- Send your child to school with a note indicating the date/time/reason for the early dismissal.
- Students will come to the office at their anticipated dismissal time.
- Parents, or a parent-approved adult, should pull up curbside at the main entrance and call 262-628-1032 to announce their arrival
- During the call, office personnel will confirm you are in our Raptor Visitor System. If you need to be added, we will come to your car for a valid driver's license. Once we scan and verify and approve the pick-up, we will return your driver's license.
- Office personnel will bring your student to the main doors to exit to your vehicle.
Other dismissal changes:
- If your child knows that they will be a pick-up instead of the bus, you do not need to notify the school. Your child can go to the pick-up area at dismissal.
- If your child is NOT aware of a dismissal change, please call the front office at 262-628-1032 to let office personnel know and we will notify your child of the change.
Welcome to Illustrative Mathematics!
We are pleased to introduce you to our new math resource, Illustrative Mathematics! As part of our curriculum review process, it was determined that our materials were not effectively supporting our goal of having all students achieve at high levels in math. After 3 years of study, site visits and research, our team chose Illustrative Mathematics to be our math resource for both K-5 and 6-8 beginning this school year.
We know that a new curriculum resource comes with many questions for all! To this end, please see the first installment of FAQ’s below!
What is Illustrative Mathematics?
Illustrative Mathematics is a problem-based core curriculum designed to address content and practice standards to foster learning for all. Students learn by doing math, solving problems in mathematical and real-world contexts, and constructing arguments using precise language. Teachers facilitate student learning with high-leverage routines to guide learners to understand and make connections between concepts and procedures.
Why was Illustrative Mathematics chosen over other, and specifically our former, curriculum?
After thorough research of our program, we found that our students were strong in procedure, but lacked a depth of understanding of math concepts needed. This necessitated a change. Illustrative Mathematics addresses this concern and more:
It is the highest rated curriculum as determined by an independent, nonprofit, review board and is recommended by the Math Institute of Wisconsin.
It meets all the criteria our math team determined as imperative in the new curriculum.
It is designed by the creators of the standards, to the standards (not adjusted to try to meet expectations).
Erin and Hartford have also adopted Illustrative Mathematics:
This allows for alignment for HUHS and possible collaboration.
Their data has shown improvement/success for students since implementation.
Illustrative Mathematics allows us to meet the individual, differing needs of students within the program without supplementation. This means that support and challenge are built in.

COVID-19 GUIDANCE
Below you will see two guiding documents that outline the expectations relating to health and safety protocols. We are looking to partner with families as we ask families to please keep your child home if he/she is displaying symptoms. Students will be informally monitored by the classroom teacher and sent to the office for more official screening if displaying symptoms.
If students have two or more symptoms he or she will need to be picked up and must follow these criteria:
**Remain out of school for 10 days and be symptom-free for 24 hours prior to returning.
OR
**Have a negative COVID test result.
