Purple Up- Tuesday, April 24th (Military Child Month)
April is the month of the Military Child and GCISD will "purple up" on April 24 to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices.
The month of the military child is a time to applaud military families and their children for the daily sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all the military branches - Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.
Make sure to come dressed in your purple on April 24!

Learning Liaison's Corner
Vulnerability, Emotion, Generosity, Sensitivity, Openness, Tenderness.
What do these have in common? They are essential and powerful tools that we need as educators to be growth-minded and open to feedback and reflection.
If you haven’t yet reached out to a colleague, Department Learning Leader, Coach, Liaison, Librarian or friend - Consider the power in collaboration and asking for feedback on growth goals.
GCISD has a powerful support network for classroom teachers…
All you have to do is ask.
We are here to help!

Learning Commons Corner- Angela Kaker
A couple of notes:
- Before you schedule something in the library, please call/email and check availability. Ask me for school day activities, and ask Stephanie for after school activities.
- The library will be closed from 9-11 today for the immunization clinic, and tomorrow while I'm at the North Texas Teen Book Festival.
- Please do not schedule me as a field trip sponsor without checking with me first. I still have district PLCs that I have to attend and classes that I have planned to teach.
Having said this, I love seeing you and your kids and I enjoy an occasional field trip, so it's not my intention to scare you off!!
Housekeeping
- Please don't let students out of your classroom during the first and last 10 minutes of class. Continue to keep track of tardies and report them to Ms. Brown.
