Golbow Elementary Lost and Found

We have accumulated many coats, jackets, sweaters, lunch kits, and water bottles in our lost and found.

Next week these lost and found items will be on tables on the stage for students to look for lost items during lunch.

Parents may also visit the lost and found during school hours. Parents would need to check in with the front office with valid identification and proceed to the stage area. All lost and found items that are not claimed by November 18th, will be donated to a local charity.

Dear Parents,

With flu season hitting early this year, the clinic staff wanted to provide the families of Golbow Elementary with some important information regarding staying healthy during this flu season.

To prevent widespread flu in the school, we recommend that your child stay home from

school if experiencing flu or cold symptoms. To decide whether to send your child to school,

please consider the following guidelines:

Keep your child at home for treatment and observation if he or she has any of these

symptoms:

• Fever‐greater than 100°F and your child should stay home until at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever. This should be determined without the use of fever‐reducing medicines (any medicine that contains ibuprofen or acetaminophen).

• Vomiting (even once)

• Diarrhea

• Chills

• General malaise or feelings of fatigue, discomfort, weakness, or muscle aches

• Frequent cough

• Lots of nasal congestion with frequent blowing of nose

To help prevent the flu and other colds, teach your children good hygiene habits:

• Wash hands frequently

• Do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth

• Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing. Using a paper tissue, throw it away and then wash hands

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick

It is recommended everyone 6 months of age and older get a seasonal flu vaccine each year. Consult your family doctor for recommendations on which flu vaccine to get.

For more information on where to find a flu vaccine near you, use the link below:

For additional information please contact your healthcare provider or campus nurse.

he Edulog Lite Parent Portal app monitors the location of school buses as they travel their routes across Katy ISD boundaries. This is done through Global Position System (GPS) hardware that is installed in each Katy ISD bus. By connecting to the Edulog Lite Parent Portal app, parents can see how close their child's bus is to its designated before- or after-school stop, as well as track the bus while it is en route. The Edulog Lite Parent Portal is only available for students who are eligible for transportation services in Katy ISD. Directions for downloading the Edulog Lite app can be found here (Eng) and here (Span).
