Charla - Free Conversational Spanish Classes for CPS Staff
The Chelsea Public Schools Human Resources Department announced the creation of "Charla", a free conversational Spanish class available to non-speaking CPS employees throughout the 2022-23 school year. Staff members are invited to register for the program by clicking here or by using the link below. Staff are also encouraged to register early because classes begin on Monday, September 19, and the classes are limited to 50 participants.

Middle School Athletics
Fall sports for our middle school students begin next week. Students in grades 5-8 can participate in cross country, and students in grades 7 and 8 can play baseball softball. Visit our website or see the flyers below for more information:

Wednesday was the first day of school at the ELC for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students! The little bees were so excited to get to school and meet their new School mascot Busy Bee!

Meet & Greets at the Morrie Seigal Clark Ave. School
At the Clark, we were enthusiastic to welcome our students and families for a Meet and Greet ice cream event. We are thankful for our educators and families! Students were also able to choose a book! A la Clark, nos entusiasmó dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes y familias para un evento de helados para conocer y saludar. ¡Estamos agradecidos por nuestros educadores y familias! ¡Los estudiantes también pudieron elegir un libro!
Attendance Policy Advocacy
On Thursday afternoon, students gathered at Chelsea High School to advocate for an improved attendance policy. The students spoke with Principal Morales, District Administration, and School Committee members about what they thought was working about the current policy, what was not, and possible solutions to make improvements.
To further the discussion about the Attendance Policy, there will be more upcoming community conversations with families, staff, and one more conversation with students. For more information, see the flyer below:

The Chelsea Recreation & Cultural Affairs has announced the programs and events for the fall-winter season!
Some new youth programs are Snowboarding with the Chill Foundation, MA Sports Leagues, The Home of Bubble Soccer, YMCA of Greater Boston Leaders Club and Y Achievers, and Self-Exploration Through Art.
Registration begins Tuesday, September 13 at 4 pm.
