Chandler High Theatre earned three awards and five additional nominations for the Tenth Annual National Youth Arts Awards for the 2014-2015 season! Congratulations to the following Wolves:

Zoe Zammit will be representing CHS at the state level as 2015-16 DECA State Vice President. Congratulations, Zoe!
Congratulations to three former Wolves who have made the U.S. World Teams for track and field:
- Jasmine Todd will be competing in 100 Meters, Long Jump and 4 x 100 Meter relay in China in late August.
- Hannah Carson will be competing in the Javelin
- Ky Westbrook made the World Junior team in 100 and 4 x 100 meter relay. She will compete in August in British Columbia at the Pan American Junior Championships.
CHS students got into the spirit last Thursday at CHS’s Back-to-School Assembly, hosted by Student Council. Students showed their school spirit by cheering for CHS’s Spirit Line, participating in class yells, and singing the alma mater.

Many of CHS’s newest Wolves celebrated the end of their first week by attending the Freshman Glow Dance last Friday. Thanks to Link Crew for hosting a great event!
CHS Open House
CHS will host Parents’ Open House on Thursday, July 30th beginning at 6:00 p.m. Please plan on attending the Opening Meeting in the CCA to meet administrators and counselors and hear an overview of the numerous programs CHS has to offer. All practice tests are administered by Kaplan.
*The SAT is changing in March. This practice test covers the current format. We will offer another practice test for the new formatted SAT on January16, 2016.
September 21st: The CUSD COLLEGE FAIR at Chandler Center for the Arts. Doors will open at 5:30pm with the program beginning at 6:00pm.
FRESHMAN POM AND CHEER TRYOUTS
Freshmen interested in trying out for CHS Pom and Cheer need to report to the Old Gym Tuesday, July 28th through Friday July 31st from 2:30-5:00pm. Contact Mrs. Delatorre with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CHS is offering the Accuplacer test on Monday July 27th through Thursday July 30th (or you can always go to CGCC and take it too) in the Library Computer Lab starting promptly at 2:30pm. Students must have their College ID# to take any of the tests. (Go to My.Maricopa.edu to obtain your college ID#) See your dual enrollment teacher or any of the counselors if you have any questions.
The Chandler Unified School District adopted new Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 textbooks this year. The books are published by Houghton Mifflin and are a part of their AGA series. Students will have full interactive online access starting in August. At school they will have hard bound copies to use in class. The textbooks are aligned to the Arizona College and Career Readiness state standards. Please contact your student’s math teacher if you have questions.
Students can work toward their college goals by taking the PSAT/NMSQT. This year the exam will be administered during school hours, and test quantities are limited. Chandler High will administer the exam on Wednesday, October 28th from 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Registration for the PSAT/NMSQT will open on August 10th and payment of 20 dollars will be processed at the Chandler High bookstore. Juniors, don’t miss out on your chance to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program. VOLLEYBALL SKILLS CAMP
CHS will host High School Volleyball Skills Camp (9th-12th graders) on August 3rd– 6th from 2:30-5:00pm in the Payne Gym. The cost is $75.00 per camper, and participants will receive a camp t-shirt.
