Kids Heart Challenge kicks off Friday, January 27th!!

We will learn how to care for our OWN hearts while helping those with sick and special hearts get better! Cortland Kids Heart Challenge - February 15th, 2023


This is your chance to be a hero to help save lives. Students will participate in 40 minutes of fun games, stations, contests, team challenges, and many exciting activities. Students will need to dress appropriately for physical activity. We will supply all the needed equipment. Students can bring their packets into the office by Monday, February 12th. Seymour Lady Owls Basketball team members will be here to help with the event.

Reminder when dropping your child off after 8:20 or picking your child up before 3:10, you will need to sign your child in or out by either filling out the online form link below. Or by scanning the QR code or filling out the form on the table in the school's front lobby. If picking up your child early, please remember to inform the school office ahead of time, so we know they will be picked up during the school day.

Please remember we send children outside for recess during the winter when the temperature and wind chill is above 20 degrees Fahrenheit. It is highly recommended that children wear hats and coats to school during the cold months. This information can be found in your student handbook on page 21.

If your child has a temperature (above 100.4) or is vomiting before school, please keep them at home. We are doing our best to keep our kids in school, but if your child is sick, help us by keeping them at home. If your child goes to the doctor when out sick, please send in a doctor's visit note which says when your child may return to class. This will also help us to mark attendance correctly. The doctor's office can fax it to the school at 812-522-6164 or take a picture of the note with your phone and email it to the office. kleberb@scsc.k12.in.us

The Cortland Robotics team had another excellent tournament day on Saturday. The tournament day was spent fine-tuning their bots and working with amazing teams! We're looking forward to more improvements and programming for our February tournament.
