Principal's Post
One of the many incredible things about Mill Creek is how supportive our community is of our students, but you are also super supportive of the adults in the building who serve our students every day! Yesterday, our Home and School provided a "Thank You" lunch for our teaching staff. Beyond the daily support from home our teachers receive from families, Home and School's organization of a teacher lunch was so appreciated by our Mill Creek teachers. Thank you to Home and School for their work to organize this wonderful lunch, and thank you to the greater community, as we know well that you provide a great deal of support to the Mill Creek Home and School, whether through donations or other avenues!
May your upcoming weekend be an enjoyable one!

From the Desk of Mr. Murtha
When I make my "rounds" to visit classrooms, teachers are often great about getting me involved if/when possible. They might ask me to take the math facts test (it can be stressful to recall those multiplication facts!), or they might make me a part of the science conversation, which I very much enjoy. Well, last Friday, I visited Ms. Leuthe's 5th Grade Physical Education class, and the students were involved in a game of Flicker Ball. Instructional pro that is Ms. Leuthe, Flicker Ball involves rules that promote sportsmanship, cooperation, and getting others involved. As I entered her class (I happened to be wearing more Phys. Ed. appropriate attire due to our Creekers' Code Spirit Day), Ms. Leuthe asked if I wanted to join the game. I jumped at the chance! While my assigned team may have been expecting dominance with Mr. Murtha on their "squad" (little did they know that I only consider myself to be an average athlete) we were not the victorious team. But none of that mattered... What mattered was that the students with whom I played, on both teams, were supportive of one another, truly worked to include as many classmates/teammates as possible, and their positivity both during and at the conclusion of the game made me proud.
So, a huge thank you to Ms. Leuthe and to Ms. Regec's 5th Grade class for including me in their game of Flicker Ball last week, and even greater thanks to the students for displaying many of the tenets we preach through our Creekers' Code during our match!
Have a wonderful weekend, Mill Creek!
