Math
This week, we started to add and subtract mixed numbers. This process has multiple steps that can be quite tricky! We are going to continue to work on mixed numbers and improper fractions through the remainder of the school year.
Please have your child practice their multiplication facts at home daily. Even if it is for 5 minutes, the hard work and practice will pay off and be so beneficial. This fall, I sent home information regarding an online math program called "First In Math". We have a subscription for every student in our class. Students are encouraged to practice at home if able. If you do not have internet access, please use flash cards or practice orally with your child. Thanks for your support!
Social Studies & Science
Today, we went out to the bee hives! Make sure to check out our Loopy Learners Facebook page for pictures! Ask your child some of the following questions:
- Why are bees important?
- What are some threats to bees?
- What can we do to help bees?
Wonders
As we wrap up the school year, we will continue to read stories in our Wonders Anthologies and our Wonders Reading and Writing Workshop book. We will practice our reading and comprehension strategies while doing close reads of the stories. Remember to keep reading this summer!
Remember to save Box Tops over the summer! Your support helps fund field trips for our classrooms at ERES! Thank you!
