The Cub Hub
Notes from the Den | Volume 1 : Issue 37 - May 17, 2021
Happy Monday Team Bear Creek,
This will be a short issue. We really appreciate a great turnout for STAAR testing from our remote learners. Thank you so much. We hope you enjoy the last few days of school. Hard to believe there is only one more Monday.

Tours During The Summer
Thank you for the huge response for our tours in June.
I just added four slots per tour in June which are going live when this issue hits your inbox. I feel as if I can socially distance well enough to accommodate a few more people.
To be clear a child counts as a slot, a partner counts as a slot, any person counts as a slot. For example a family of four = four slots.
I will be opening up more dates in July so stay tuned.
We have a few extra copies of class pictures available for purchase.
Cost: $13 (exact change please) or check payable to Lifetouch.
Where: Front Office of Bear Creek Elementary
Deadline: May 28, 2021

Outside Food / Deliveries For Students
This has been addressed before but we know that things get lost over time. We do not accept deliveries for students for special occasions (e.g. birthdays, special events.) this is partly COVID-19 related and also we are following suit with many campuses regarding the elimination of birthday treats and bags.
PTA Paw Prints
Join us this Thursday 5/20 at 5:00pm via Zoom for our final PTA meeting of the year. We have lots to update you on, including our plans for next year and how we are planning to invest the profit from our Booster Fundraiser into the school.
Following our brief meeting, we will have a panel of Bear Creek teachers and staff members sharing their perspective on this challenging and unprecedented school year. There will be an opportunity for a few questions at the end.
Mark your calendar and make plans to join us via Zoom!

K-2 Human Sexuality and Responsibility Curriculum for the 2021-2022 School Year
The Health and PE Department has been revising the K-2 Human Sexuality and Responsibility
curriculum for the 2021-2022 school year; the current curriculum is more than 12 years old.
Parent feedback is important to guide this work. This year, principals will need to schedule a
community meeting between May 10 and May 21, 2021, to invite your PreK-2nd grade parents
to learn about the HSR policies, K-2 revised curriculum, and how parents can take the survey.
The Office of Academics and Office of School Leadership expects to have PreK-2nd grade
parents/legal guardians provide feedback on the curriculum updates. The input will be used to
make any necessary changes to the draft K-2 lessons. The K-2 curriculum is expected to go to
SHAC in May and to the Board of Trustees in August. Once approved, this content, along with
the 3rd - 5th-grade lessons, will be taught in November/December during the 2021-2022 school
