You are Awesome!
First let me apologize for the tardiness of the memo. I finally got home from the conference I attended at 9:30 on Friday night and spent yesterday playing catch-up on family time and house chores.
Sarah and I attended the Professional Learning Communities (PLC's) Institute this week. We wanted to attend this conference to learn and grown in our understanding of the PLC process. While I was there, I really became enamored with a reoccurring theme. The majority of kids in poverty in the United States are doomed to a life in poverty unless a school, a teacher, or a mentor makes a difference. One of the speakers stated, "Good is not enough for our students.....We are SAVING LIVES here!"
I walked away from this conference excited about our school. There are a few things that I am almost 100% certain:
- I know each of you take your roles, responsibilities, and opportunities with kids very seriously.
- I know so many of you give more than what is required of you. You don't have a JOB at Audubon, you have a mission.
- I know that each of you are totally invested in providing the Best Environment, Opportunities, and Instruction for our kids.
- I know that Audubon is one of the best schools because of the other 3 bullets.
Thank you for being awesome and providing an outstanding place for our kids to learn and grow.
