How do curveballs work in soccer?
Its called The Magnus Effect which means when the ball is kicked of the center of the ball it gives the ball a spin which then cuases friction to react with air to give its sense of direction causing the ball to curve.
Why I chose this topic?
I chose this topic becuase i thought sports physics was interesting since I play a sport. And also becuase many people ask how people can make a ball curve so much.
history of sport physics
Over the thousand or so years of the Ancient Olympic Games, technologies were introduced to improve and control performance. Our modern version of sport was born from the inventions of the industrial icons of 19th Century Britain, which spawned nearly all sports as we now know them today.
