Thoughts and Ponderings

Next week we will focus on kindness in our P2 classes. Kind people think about the needs and feelings of other people, and then act to help those people. Kind people are selfless. That is why a true act of kindness is distinct from helping another person in order to simply gain something for yourself. An individual with the strength of kindness helps others because it’s the right thing to do, not because they expect any reciprocal treatment or gain in reputation.

Please watch the video clip below with your family and then discuss the three questions below:

1) What are some simple acts of kindness you could perform for your community?

2) Why are both large acts of kindness and small acts of kindness important?

3) Is it easier to be kind to someone you are friends with, than to someone you may not always get along with?

“Do something wonderful. People may imitate it."

Family Meeting Celebrations

Congratulations to the 6th and 8th graders who TIED for The Golden Lance on Wednesday, November 17. This marks the FIRST win of the year for the 6th graders and the sixth win of the year for the 8th graders! The Golden Lance will return on Wednesday, December 1. Can't wait to see which grade level will claim it for the week!

We were proud to recognize Colby Zavoral as the Lancer Leader of the Week on November 17! Colby is quiet by nature and never one to complain or engage in the usual seventh grade drama, yet his unassuming personality shines through. Colby is patient and excels at explaining ideas and helping others understand. He likes to challenge himself and loves to learn. For all these reasons and many more, we are proud to recognize Colby Zavoral as our Lancer Leader of the Week!

Congratulations, Colby!

Stuff-A-Truck was a SUCCESS!

Last week LMS Lancers participated in Y-Country’s Stuff-A-Truck which helps benefit the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency. This agency helps support families in need in southwest Michigan. Our grand total this year was 143 boxes, 10 boxes of diapers, 2,000 toothbrushes, and 6,243 items total! Student Council members worked hard counting, sorting, and working at the raffle table! We thank all of the students and families who participated. Way to go, Lancers!
