Girl M-Powered (Grades K-6) AMC
This is a one of a kind experience for Jackson County girls! Participation in this program is intended to develop confidence in science and math skills, as well as important leadership skills and advanced critical thinking and problem solving techniques, while working as a team.

I Can Make It Camp (Grades 4-6) AMC
This program serves children who exhibit strong math and/or science interest or skills and excel in hands-on learning environments, as recommended by their school teachers/principals. At this overnight camp, participants experience math, science, technology and principles of engineering and manufacturing through design, build and test of dozens of cool projects.
For students enrolled in grades 4, 5 & 6

*Drop-Off on Monday is at 7:30 AM, with the camp week concluding following a presentation on Friday afternoon at 2:00 PM.

The Shop Rat Introductory Summer Camp is a single week, 30 hour program that provides students with the opportunity to participate in hands-on, project based learning modules related to machining, engineering, construction and welding. The intent is to generate excitement for these career/ educational pathways, while providing students with basic skills that they can further develop through continued participation in related educational opportunities. Students will participate in both group and individual projects, with the opportunity to take much of what they make home. Projects include an engineering project, turned workshop pencils, wooden toolboxes, machined levels and an introduction to welding.

Project Rosie: Girls Engaged In Manufacturing (Grades 6-8) SRF
The Shop Rat Foundation is pleased to offer this unique opportunity to females students enrolled in grades 6-8. Project Rosie is a single week, 35 hour program. Students will have an opportunity to gain insight into the valuable role that women have historically played within the manufacturing industry and how that continues today. Students participate in hands-on projects related to machining, welding and engineering and have an opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations with local women working within the manufacturing sector. This program is intended to encourage young women to pursue skilled trades, engineering and manufacturing related career opportunities that are frequently overlooked, while also sparking their interest and building confidence in STEM subject areas.

Machining U (Grades 7-10) AMC
This program serves students interested in learning how to design, build and test projects using state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Attendees will visit local manufacturing facilities and are introduced to valuable skills such as: machining, blueprint reading, measurement, machining theory, machining production, welding, fabrication, metal bending and much more in a safe, high-tech environment.

Underwater ROV is a hands-on workshop where students design, engineer and build a fully functional underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The ROV program is a unique platform teaching applied science, engineering concepts and aquatic studies.

Tinker: Exploring Innovation Camp (Grades 7-10) SRF
Tinker Camp is a one week program intended to provide students with an opportunity to dive into the world of innovation. Within this program, students will examine the work of famous American innovators and learn to distinguish between discovery, invention and innovation, while participating in both individual and group projects. Tinker Camp is an opportunity for students to think critically and creatively and work collaboratively to create something truly special. Within this program, students will gain instruction related to machining, welding and engineering, and utilize CAD/CAM software programs, work with electrical components and many more unique resources to foster innovative thinking.
For students enrolled in grades 7, 8, 9 & 10 (Qualifying students must have successfully completed the Introductory Shop Rat class or Camp, or Machining U to participate)

Build It! Construction Camp (Grades 7-10) SRF
Love the smell of sawdust and working with wood? This is the camp for you! During the one week program, students will participate in a variety of woodworking projects, such as bat houses, Adirondack chairs and work together as a group to build 2 new dog houses to be donated to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

Shop Rat Mechatronics & Robotics Camp (Grades 7-10) SRF
The Shop Rat Mechatronics and Robotics Camp will provide students with an opportunity to build and gain a better understanding of automated production systems, through application of their skill sets related to STEM and manufacturing. This camp is hands-on and project based, encouraging students to work independently and collaboratively to create a fully functional system, incorporating a variety of sensors.
