Principal's Message
Hello Sunset Lake Families,
WOW! Our 2019-2020 school year is officially over.
What a year it has been!
Our new floors and playground equipment along with our newly painted playground equipment started our year off on such a happy note! The fall came with some challenges due to the Eastern Equine (EEE) virus with concerns of mosquitos at our Outdoor Education Center. Our mild winter allowed us to avoid issues with too many snow days. We were so happy to have our students lead their second-semester conferences and start our 3rd marking period with strong WIGS (Wildy Important Goals) for reading independently and reducing our behavior referrals. Our data was right on track! March came and our world came to a screeching halt. It has been quite a spring and I am grateful to everyone for their patience and grace during these past three months.
In this edition, we have our Sunset Lake End of Year Slide Show. We hope your family enjoys the wonderful memories shared out throughout the video. THANK YOU Tamara Young for putting this together for us.
Although we do not know what school will look like yet for next year we will work to keep you informed over the summer months. We will be communicating your child's teacher and open house information as decisions are being made. I and the entire Sunset staff wish your family a safe and healthy summer filled with fun and happy memory-making. We miss our Sunset Lake Kiddos like crazy!
During the summer months, our office will be closed after June 19th. Please contact the Vicksburg Administration building at 321-1003 if you are in need of assistance.
Stay Safe Sunset Lake!
Yours in Learning,
Amie McCaw

ONE family member enters the building from our north side-cafeteria doors. The Doors will be opened and have a large orange cone outside to mark the entrance spot. All people entering the building must wear a mask. If you do not have one, we will have masks and gloves available. We ask that your time in the building is limited and you stay to the route that will be marked with signs and floor markings. The Chromebook and library book return will take place in the cafeteria and everyone will exit the cafeteria out to the hallway toward the lobby. In the lobby, we will have FREE gently-used books for you to select for your child. We have a mix of fiction and non-fiction so you may want to ask you, child, their preference, or any topics/authors or genres they would like you to look for when you come next week. These books are for you to keep and you do not have to worry about returning them in the fall!
