March 2019

Big picture

Happy Spring!

Today, I am at the FIRST Robot Competition in Milwaukee. Thanks to the financial and engineering support of Alliance Laundry Systems, this is the first year Ripon has sent a team to this high energy competition where high school teams from across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois are facing off.

Partnerships such as this one with Alliance is just one example of how the district continues to work to position our graduates to be ready for the ever-changing job market that awaits them. The competition is a wonderful culminating experience for our students who work with robotics through our K-12 engineering program.

Strategic planning work is currently underway to formalize a Ripon Graduate Profile that will capture all of the hopes and wishes we have for our children as they move through the district. The profile will be discussed at the annual spring ESSA Strategic Planning Meeting. Please consider joining us on April 22 and 29 from 6:00-7:30 in the RHS Community Room.

Included in this newsletter is a link to this year’s parent satisfaction survey. We appreciate you sharing feedback to help us improve. The survey will be open today through April 10. Your participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous. We are working with Joe Weitzer, a third party Wisconsin-based professional service provider with expertise in continuous improvement and conducting school surveys. He is assisting us with our data gathering and interpreting efforts. His analysis of the survey will be shared at the Spring ESSA Strategic Planning meetings.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mary Whitrock
