Dear Families,
I'm happy to share that I will not have to email a community exposure-close contact letter today. I think we made it through the Omicron surge and am grateful for everyone's diligent efforts to keep us all healthy!
February is Black History month, a federally recognized celebration of the contribution African Americans have made to this country. The theme for 2022 focuses on the importance of Black Health and Wellness. This theme acknowledges the legacy of Black scholars and medical practitioners. Below are links you can use with your child to help them understand and become more compassionate to diversity and combating racism.

Kindness and Empathy
Empathy is considering how you would feel in someone else's situation; taking time to imagine the feelings, thoughts, and attitudes of another.
San Mateo Ed Foundation Readathon
Thank you to our staff and families for encouraging and participating in the Ed Foundation Readathon! Our students read a total of 13,441 minutes!!!!
Record Keeping:
Reading minutes - If any student is using a paper log to track their minutes instead of recording their minutes in 99Pledges, please email those logs to Readathon@smfcedfund.org by Wednesday, February 9th.
Cash/check donations - Please take these to the school office and note the student’s name, your name, and the donation amount so that we can make sure to credit the student and your classroom.
Once we have all the reading minutes and donations, we will start awarding the Certificates!
The total amount raised for the Ed Foundation as of Tuesday afternoon is $82,836.
Thank you for your support!
