Dear Families,

Today was a very special day for our younger students. Several classrooms celebrated the 100th day of school! Students counted to 100 using different counting objects, made necklaces, art, and many other fun projects.

I'm happy to share that I will not have to email a community exposure-close contact letter today. I think we made it through the Omicron surge and am grateful for everyone's diligent efforts to keep us all healthy!

February is Black History month, a federally recognized celebration of the contribution African Americans have made to this country. The theme for 2022 focuses on the importance of Black Health and Wellness. This theme acknowledges the legacy of Black scholars and medical practitioners. Below are links you can use with your child to help them understand and become more compassionate to diversity and combating racism.

  1. A curated list of Children's Books to teach young kids to embrace race, provide solace and do good. embrace.org
  2. Entertainment pics feature Black characters, moving stories, compelling themes, and positive representation in movies, books, learning. Common Sense Media

Feb 7-11 is National School Counselor Week! Thank you to Ms. Kim for all she does for the students, families, and staff! In celebration, the counseling department has put together a datasheet of all the ways Ms. Kim has supported the school Meadow Heights.

  2. Cash/check donations - Please take these to the school office and note the student’s name, your name, and the donation amount so that we can make sure to credit the student and your classroom.
