The Great Black Hawk Bake-Off
Cream Cheese Brownies ~ Fatima N.
Over spring break, I made cream cheese brownies! They were really fun to make and tasted really good, too. I thought the recipe would be hard, but it was actually really simple- I just had to make a cream cheese layer and a brownie layer- and then bake it :) either way, it was really fun to make!
PB & J Layered Cake ~ Addison T.
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies ~ Serena P.
I have made these cookies before and my family loved them, so I decided to make them again. (They were gone within 24 hours!) I LOVE BAKING! *If you'd like to make these tasty cookies, the recipe Serena found is in The Complete Baking Book for Young Chefs, which can be checked out from the BHMS library.
Cherry Chip Cupcakes ~ Elijah P.
These cupcakes are amazing. They were made by my brother. And they came from a cake mix.
Decorated Chocolate Cake ~ Chloe L.
Super Moist Chocolate Cupcakes ~ Harley K.
I made them [cupcakes] with my friend from dance. We had so much fun making them.
I decided to make them for my neighbor who had back surgery to make her feel better.Gingerbread Cake ~ Holly S.
Cookies ~ Leban L.
Tiered Cake ~ Jenna T.
The bottom layer is a layered chocolate cake, and the top tier is a layered white chocolate and blueberry cake. Everything you see is made from scratch. My sister and I had lots of fun making it! *Click the photo below to see video footage of Jenna's cake making.
Pico de Gallo ~ Mr. Oase
Tiramisu & Tiered Decorated Cake ~ Ms. Saeed
Spring Break Bakes ~ Mr. Herem & Family
After showing Mr. Herem, GT and social studies teacher, a preview of Jenna's amazing video, he got a bit intimidated and wasn't sure if he should share his bakes. After some encouragement, he finally sent the photos. Viewers can tell that baking is just one of the fun activities going on in the Herem family home!
Church Basement Brownies: Do you frost your brownies? We do in the Herem house! We can’t have dairy though, so these brownies are made with lactose free milk and oil instead of butter.
Blondies: We had a little challenge in the Herem house…brownies or blondies. The winner was…Blondies! These are made with extra large White Chocolate chips. The secret is to keep an eye on these blondies in the oven because you don’t want them hard and crumbly. Soft and chewy is the way to go.
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread: I love banana bread! However, to get my kids to eat it I throw in some chocolate chips. My kids (are those kids) and allergic to nuts, so there are no nuts in the banana bread. If you throw a little flour on your chocolate chips before they go in they won’t all sink to the bottom.
