PTA is excited to host HARVEST FEST! Friday, October 23, 6-8pm.
Festivities will begin at 6 PM with Class-o-Treat, followed by a dance in the gym, crafts, fingernail- and face-painting in the cafeteria, bouncy houses on the upper playground. Food trucks (Papa Johns, Chick-fil-A, and more) will be available in the car-riders’ parking lot and in the breezeway. We will top the evening off with a costume parade and competition in the gym at 7:30 PM (the event ends at 8 PM).
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
We anticipate that parent volunteers will meet most of the needs for this event, but we can’t do it without you, too! Teacher/staff volunteers are needed for the following areas:
- Class-o-Treat stations: PTA will provide the treats (through parent donations and/or purchase) but we need YOU to set up and run the treat stations!
- Time commitment: setup time, plus manning the stations 6 to 6:30 PM during the event
- Responsibilities: hand out treats to kids and families
- Incentive: FUN! and, prizes for teachers/staff who put together the best-decorated treat station (as judged by the PTA board)!
- Bouncy houses: Staff members are needed to oversee this event. Manpower from the bouncy house company will be on-site in the event of problems with the equipment.
- Time commitment: 30 minutes to an hour (depending on the number of volunteers for rotation) between 6 PM and 8 PM the night of the event
- Responsibilities: assist with maintaining order and oversight of children’s interaction with bouncy house company staff
- Sand Art: Supplies and direction will be provided
- Time commitment: 30 minutes to an hour (depending on the number of volunteers for rotation) between 6 PM and 8 PM the night of the event
- Responsibilities: assist/oversight of children and families with sand art
- Harvest Dance: a professional DJ will run the show!
- Time commitment: any time you are willing to give during the event
- Responsibilities: Dance! And assist/provide oversight of children and families
- Fingernail-painting, face-painting, balloon-twisting, perhaps other activities:
- Time commitment: any time you are willing to give during the event
- Responsibilities: Paint children’s nails or faces. Twist balloons! Clown around!
Do you have something you would like to volunteer to offer along these lines?
We’re open to suggestions and would love to include you!
Please sign up to volunteer by writing your name on the sign-up sheets that will be posted in the mailroom. For more details, please reference the flyers check going home in Friday folders. If you have any questions or clarification, please e-mail Ann at annbethesdapta@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your support of this event!
Tech Tip of the Week!
Media Release
Make sure that your students have completed and returned a signed Media Release. Parents can say no, so you should have a list of students whose parents do not want them photographed and/or video taped for educational purposes. Please make them aware that this includes having their child in the yearbook.
If you need additional forms please see Ms. Lanuza, she will provide it for you.
Grade Books
Please see Ms. Claudon's email from earlier this week and check the BES training page for instructions and help in finalizing your grade book. Final grades are due by Monday, October 12 by 4PM. Please see Ms. Claudon if you need any help at all.
Enjoy your treats and pay it forward to three of your colleagues.
Let’s see if we can all get “Boo”ed before October 31st.
Boo's slips are available in the mail room.
Keep this note on your mailbox, so you don’t get “Boo”ed again!

Are you interested in ZUMBA classes?
ZUMBA is Perfect for every body!
Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise.
Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.
Benefits - A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.
