This Is How We Lakeview
October 2021 Edition: Volume 2
Hello Fall!
Reminder that Tuesday, October 12th is a NO SCHOOL DAY for grades K-8 due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Students will not have new assignments on this day so this would be a good day to work on iReady or any missing assignments. If you would like to set up a conference with your student's team, please reach out to any of the their team teachers and they can set up a conference. All conferences will be virtual.
As our fall sports are coming to a close, open gyms and tryouts for winter sports are coming up. Please make sure that you are signing up on FinalForms so that you are receiving communications about winter sports.
Picture Retakes are October 18th, flyers were given to students to take home this week. This information is also available on the Lakeview Website for families to access. Thank you!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month
Parents, during the month of October your students will have lots of mini-lessons and conversation starters during their PAWtime on Bullying. Please take a few minutes to ask your student what they are discussing during PAWtime. Families play an important role in helping us create a positive school culture at Lakeview. Our goal is that Lakeview Junior High be a place where all students feel safe and a sense of belonging. Here are some resources to help you continue the conversations at home. You can visit Stomp Out Bullying and Stop Bullying for information, resources and support.

Recent Updates
- If any families are interested in being a part of our PBIS: Social Justice sub-group, please let Ben Baptist (Lead Assistant Principal) know at ben_baptist@plsd.us, or call him at (614) 830-2281. We would love to have more family involvement with PBIS this year to help us shape our work with our students as we work toward our goal of ensuring that every student feels welcomed and valued in our building.
- Has your student done something awesome or noteworthy? Do you want to celebrate them and their accomplishments? In future Community Corners, we hope to highlight more of our students through the Student Spotlight feature. We have updated the Family Feedback Form to include an area where you can share the details that you want to highlight about your student. Check it out!
