Reopening Video and Survey
Here is the video that was sent to families about reopening, English / Spanish. You can find the reopening plan on the district website. If you have questions about reopening, you can submit them here. Here is the survey link for families to let us know what their decision is concerning returning to school. Please fill out ASAP. The office will be open from noon to 4:00 pm if you need assistance.
Attendance
In order for teachers to mark students as attending class, students need to have their camera on, be seated at their chromebook, respond to teacher's questions and complete their class work. Students who turn their cameras off, walk away from their chromebook, do not respond to their teacher, or don't do work with their class will be removed from the class. Teachers will send an invite for them to return to class. Students who do not comply will be marked absent.
Family Counting Night
Please join us for an exciting math event for TK-2nd Grade families on November 19 at 6:00pm! Create mystery bags to surprise and engage your child! Participate in a virtual event with hands-on math activities for the family. At this event you will learn activities you can do to develop and increase your child’s math skills at home or when out and about in your neighborhood.
Register on the Marylin Ave website or email dnathanson@lvjusd.org. The meeting link will be emailed to families on November 19.

We are getting all sorts of prizes donated for our winners of the ST Math Challenge. All students who logon to ST Math grades K-1 15 minutes a day or 75 minutes a week, and grades 2-5 20 minutes a day or 100 minutes a week will have their name placed in the raffle to win prizes. We will also be recognizing the students who accumulate the most puzzles and have show the greatest growth. Last we had over 40 students meet their goal. Keep on working with Gigi the Penguin to earn you chances to win great prizes.
Our Fourth Grade Teachers
Report Cards
The end of the trimester is November 20 and teachers will be working on report cards soon. Report cards are all digital and will be available through the parent portal beginning December 4. At least one parent per family needs to register through the portal to view report cards. If you have already registered and have a new email, you will need to parentportalhelp@lvjusd.org email to receive a new account. Ms. Nathanson has sent home student codes and directions to all parents who have not registered today. Please notify your child's teacher if you have not received your code.
Chromebooks
We have noticed that some students are turning work in late at night, between 10:00 pm and midnight. While we are please that they are completing their work, students should be in bed at this time so that they can be ready for class at 8:00 am. We also can see from district information that students are up late at night playing games or watching YouTube and TicTok videos. Parents may want to put chromebooks in a secure place so that students are getting a good night's sleep and are ready for a successful day of learning.
Picture Day Make Ups
If you missed having your student's picture taken on October 28 you can have them take a make up picture on Dec 2, from 9:00-1:00 in the MPR.
Remember you need to order all pictures online if you haven't already. Lifetouch is not taking any orders onsite. You can order pictures online at mylifetouch.com using the code EVTQPZ7XW.
