Tabar Talks
November 18, 2019
Families and friends of Corpus Christi Academy, today’s E-Blast is being sent to address a very important and serious issue, BULLYING. Bullying comes in a wide variety of forms from physical, to verbal, to cyber- bullying and so much more. THERE IS NO ACCEPTANCE OR TOLERANCE OF ANY BULLYING AT CORPUS CHRISTI ACADEMY, whether it is perceived or real.
Our goal at CCA is to encourage students to develop a positive attitude toward themselves, each other, our school, and our community. In order to accomplish this we need to work together, as families, as a school, as parishes, and as a community. The students, faculty, staff, and athletic department will all be undergoing bullying awareness, prevention, and recognition training in participation with the Lyndhurst Police, the McKeon Group (aiding in the social, emotional, psycholgical aspects), and the Diocese of Cleveland (through Cary Dabney Director, Office of Ministry to African American Catholics). As outlined in our Parent/Student Handbook and “in order to maintain a Christian learning environment, Corpus Christi Academy firmly and fairly endorses the discipline code which is operative on school property and off; including but not limited to sporting events and the internet”. Thus, cell phones are not to be used for picture and video-taking and no harassment of persons via the cell phone or internet is accepted. Illegal, unethical, or inappropriate use of technology can have dramatic consequences, harming the school, its students, and its employees.
Consequently, further training will be provided to students, parents, faculty, staff, and the athletic department in regards to appropriate use of technology and social media as well its consequences. Any actions that violate the Parent/Student Handbook will be dealt with in an appropriate and timely fashion. The support of the students, parents, teachers, administration, staff, local law enforcement, the Diocese of Cleveland, and our parish communities are integral to creating an environment where everyone is welcome, safe, and secure.
As for ME AND MY HOUSE, We will serve the Lord! - Joshua 24:15
God Bless,
