The ACOVA Board provides Arizona CTE Directors with opportunities to identify and discuss issues within Career & Technical Education that are critical to them and their role as a director. In preparation for the upcoming ACTEAz Virtual Conference, Find Your Pot of Gold, we'd like to survey local directors in an attempt to pre-identify some of these issues. Thank you, in advance for taking a moment to complete the following survey: March 2021 Critical Issues. Questions may be directed to Craig Lunt, ACOVA President Elect.

In the meant time, corrections can still be made for FY20..

FY20 Coherent Sequence & Enrollment Updates Close Feb. 5

Both the Coherent Sequence and Enrollment tabs can be found on the CTE Data Portal.

FY20 information for both can be updated until Feb. 5!

Coherent Sequence

A coherent sequence is a series of 2 or 3 required courses within an approved CTE program that address the technical skills standards for the program. The coherent sequence of courses that a District offers or plans to offer is created/updated in the CTE Data Portal on an annual basis. Districts are required to include all required courses and can include any optional courses or an articulated location, if applicable. CTE Course Enrollment records can be uploaded into the CTE Data Portal only for courses that exist on a School's coherent sequence.

Full lists of approved CTE programs, coherent sequences, and information on Local Occupational Programs can be found on the CTE Programs and Standards webpage: www.azed.gov/cte/programs. Additional information on CTE program coherent sequences can be found here.

Enrollment

CTE Course Enrollment is used to calculate grant funding, Carl D. Perkins Act performance measures, and to monitor program effectiveness. All CTE Course Enrollment is provided bi-annually in the CTE Data Portal by secondary school districts and by Career and Technical Education districts. Course Enrollment is provided for the 40th (Fall term) and 100th day (Spring term) of each school year. This link will provide you with more information regarding CTE Enrollment, https://www.azed.gov/cte/cte-enrollment

FY20 Participant/Concentrator Records Open for Modifications Feb 8-19.

CTE participants and CTE concentrators are tracked in the CTE Data Portal. The system automatically creates and updates the list of participants and concentrators for each district using historical data and current year enrollment data. Within the portal, on the Participant/Concentrator tab, click on the “Click here for instructions” link for instructions on modifying or creating new Participant/Concentrator records. Concentrators displayed on this list are used for Perkins Performance Measures and for CTE data reporting purposes. CTE programs 3 years or older must have at least one concentrator for the program to be considered eligible for funding (see the Secondary Performance Measures guidelines grant eligibility section for more information).

Please contact the CTE Accountability Team with any questions or concerns:
