70's

Freedom: Racial barriers broken by African Americans in sports such as baseball, tennis, basketball, and football. The sports world changed forever. Abortion becomes legal due to Roe v. Wade and it becomes the mothers freedom to get an abortion as long as the baby could not survive outside of the womb, leading to a coup for womens rights. 1973-75 Homosexuality is declassified as a mental disorder.


Achievement & Success: First Earth day April 22nd, Environmental protection Agency, and Clean Air Act. Pentagon papers and fall of Saigon. Opening the door to China, China becomes an important trade partner, Nixons defrosts longstanding communist fears.


Science: "Computer Revolution", founding of big tech companies like Apple and Microsoft.

Freedom: End of The Cold War, Berlin wall falls


Achievement & Success: Upper class thrived greatly, creating Yuppies. Rise of cable and popular TV channels. Space shuttle Columbia was a successful test, followed by failure of The Challenger. "Just say no" escalated drug arrests. 1981 tax cut and "Reganomics". "The miracle on ice" 1980 Winter Olympics.


Science: Developments in the space program, rise in space safety precautions. Electronic innovations in video games (Nintendo), IBM's first PC, PC dominance rises,

Freedom: "Don't Ask, Don't tell" allowing homosexuals in the service


Achievement & Success: North American Free Trade Agreement, successful trade zones for Mexico and Canada, creating many jobs as well. Balanced budget and Economic stability.


Science: The rise of the Internet, World Wide Web introduced in 91. The Patriot Missile. April 24th 1990 Hubble Space Telescope enters orbit.
