Design Thinking Workshop

We're rolling out a prototype of Design Thinking for DPS!

Let's design!

What if we could reimagine and refine how we engage with big, challenging, seemingly unsolvable questions? What if you could be the designer of a customized solution? Imagine the possibilities...

Our hope is to unlock the potential and creativity of educators, students, parents, school leaders, DPS leaders, community members, business leaders, philanthropists, and any other interested thinkers in order to design personalized solutions for learning and doing.

This design workshop is our "test" to see if engaging in a design thinking process can help develop human-centered products, processes, and ideas with a wide variety of folks.

You are personally invited to engage in a facilitated design thinking process with a small, energetic, and diverse group of thinkers in and around Denver Public Schools.

The workshops will walk you through selecting a problem or question that has relevance to you in your life or work, collecting "empathy" data on your users, generating ideas to "solve" the problem, crafting a prototype, and finally testing your solution with users to see what you can learn from them about how to build your next iteration.

At the end of the final workshop you will have gone through the whole design process, and we will have had the opportunity to test our prototype with actual users!

There are three workshops in this series, and will be offered three separate times. We ask that if you commit to this process you find a way to attend one of each workshop at a time that works for you. That means you could attend session 1.1, session 2.3, and session 3.3. There will also be limited online work between each session to ensure that the work moves forward.

Each workshop will be capped at 15 attendees so that we can all engage thoughtfully with one another in a smaller setting for this test of our prototype.

We hope that you can join us for this hands on, collaborative, and exciting experience!

*Refreshments will be provided for all sessions.
