Ecstasy? What's that?
Ecstasy's medical name is MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine). This drug is a synthetic and mind altering drug that acts both as a stimulant and a hallucinogenic. Research shows that many of these tablets contain a number of other drugs that can be dangerous when combined including, methamphetamine,ketamine, cocaine, DXM and the diet drug ephedrine.
What is it made up of?
Unlike tobacco or marijuana plants, ecstasy doesn't come from a plant. It is man made.
What happens when you take it?
Shortly after taking Ecstasy, you may feel confusion, depression, and severe anxiety. How ever, if it doesn't react to your body quickly, it can show up days or weeks after taking this drug, like any other stimulant, it will increase your heart rate and blood pressure. Physical effects include; tremors, teeth clenching,muscle cramps,nausea, faintness, chills, sweating, and blurred vision. It usually lasts 3-6 hours.
Does it last long?
There are long-term effects. This drug directly affects the brain chemical serotonin, and how your brain cells communicate with each other. clinical studies show that this can increase the risk of permanent problems with memory and learning. Taking to much of this can interfere with the body's ability to regulate its temperature. That can cause hyperthermia and can lead to liver, kidney, and cardiovascular failure.
How is it taken?
Ecstasy is a pill. So it is usually swallowed, but it can also be crushed , injected, snorted, or used in suppository (meaning in their rear end D:)
