The Emancipation Proclamation
Breaking News: The Emancipation Proclamation
This is Ayris Strouse reporting from the capital with breaking news. Abraham Lincoln has just put into place The Emancipation Proclamation yesterday January 1, 1863. Right after Robert E. Lee withdrew from the Confederate army Lincoln immediately set the Emancipation into place. This new Proclamation will change everything for the north, south, and the results after the war.
The Emancipation was pushed for by the abolitionist Fredrick Douglass and William Garrison. These abolitionists, along with Lincoln, believe this emancipation will give the union more motivation for the war. This Emancipation gives us hope that slavery will end and everyone will be free. For this to happen we need all the help we can get even from African-Americans. So let's stand up and support Lincoln with the Emancipation Proclamation and fight for the Union.
