The Willard Weekly
April 11, 2016
Dear Willard Families and Community,
Congrats to our Innovation Exposition participants. Kirsten Cannon won third place for her 3D printing project, and Nicholai Lindsey won 1st place for his Fuel Cell project.
Our CAASPP testing begins this week for 3-5 graders. Please be sure that your children eat a good breakfast and get a good night's sleep each night before testing.
On Tuesday our TK, K, 1st, 2nd, and 4th graders will be attending a special performance from the Music Center called Dancing Storytellers: Indian Mythology and Me.
IB Attitude and Learner Profile
Our IB attitude for the month of April is Independence, which means making one’s own judgements while being reasonable. The profile attribute that we are celebrating is being reflective, which means we work to understand our responses and how those responses support our learning and personal development. (IBO, 2009). Please share these with your child(ren) and discuss how these traits are helpful in daily life and learning.
WAF's Price is Right Silent Auction
Come on down! The Price Is Right Silent Auction is coming to Willard! Willard Annual Fund (WAF) is auctioning off prizes that any Willard family would love — a personal parking spot in the teachers' lot, Principal for a Day, front row 5th Grade graduation seats, tickets to the Rose Parade, teacher experiences, and much more! The auction will take place at school during the week of May 2nd and it will end the night of Open House, May 5th, at 8:00 pm. Start saving so you can bid on fantastic experiences and get a great deal in the process!
Proceeds from the auction will go toward the purchase of the new shade structure and to supplement IB costs. Donation slips can be dropped off at the front office.
Don’t forget that running club runs every morning from 7:30-7:45.
Please wear green on Tuesday to celebrate I.B. Green.
The Willard Weekly is posted on Willard’s Facebook page. Be sure to like it.
Did you know that all 4th graders receive a free pass for Federal Parks (families are included)? Please check out this website for more information.
