Third Grade November Newsletter
A Note From The Teachers
With a blink of an eye we are now into November and before we know it.... it will be winter break! We can't thank you enough for your continued support in ensuring your child is at school everyday. We have just completed our end of the quarter testing for the first marking period and look forward to discussing results at conferences. Third grade is the start of the upper grades in elementary school and the curriculum is extremely rigorous. With that being said, work ethic has been a major concern across third grade. Please help us in stressing to your children the importance of having a good work ethic in school.
Additionally, please make sure your child is reading nightly. It truly makes a difference in their reading progress. We are seeing huge jumps in reading levels!
On November 27th, third grade will be hosting a reading night from 5:00-6:00. We can't stress enough how important it is for you to attend. We will be discussing the expectations of third grade students on the reading SOL and what you can do at home to help them be successful.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for all you do at home to support your child's learning.
Thank you,
The Third Grade Team
Ms. Dietz, Ms. Kilgore, Dr.Shelton, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Wozniak
