Principal's Message
Dear Oak Hills Families,
We have hired our Assistant Principal. Her name is Jennifer Demartino and here is a message from her:
I am so excited and honored to have the opportunity to work at Oak Hills Elementary School. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. I was born in upstate NY and graduated from the State University of NY at Oswego. Since then, I have been a kindergarten teacher, a math and reading support specialist and most recently the Library and Instructional Technology Teacher at Bethany Elementary. I am really passionate about integrating technology with quality instruction. I have three boys, ages 18, 15, and 12. They love sports and my husband and I love watching them play, so it works out great! I have heard so many wonderful things and I cannot wait to become a member of the Oak Hills family!
Jennifer will begin at Oak Hills on July 1. I am looking forward to having a partner to be able to support our school at a higher level. Please welcome Jennifer when you see her in the fall.
On another note, our 5th Grade students did a phenomenal job with the Wax Museum today. Each student researched a prominent figure in history and presented a speech about this person while in character. Many of our younger grade levels visited the Wax Museum to learn about these characters in history. I am so proud of our students for their hard work in making this project a success. I would also like to thank our 5th Grade teachers for their support and dedication.
Enjoy the weekend.
Warm regards,
Sheila Baumgardner
Beaverton School District Now Enrolling for Kindergarten 2017-2018
The Beaverton School District is now enrolling for Kindergarten at all elementary schools
for the 2017-2018 school year. Any child who will be five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2017, are now eligible to enroll for kindergarten at their designated home school. Registration packets are available at all District elementary schools. Parents/guardians will need to provide a birth certificate, proof of address and immunization record at the time of enrollment.
Jogathon
This school year may be over in a short 6 weeks but our team of Jog-A-Thon volunteers are already hard at work planning for our fall fundraiser.
We are hoping to provide race day t-shirts again for 600 students and over 40 teachers and staff. We need YOUR help!
We have a wonderful community that generously supports our PTO and school. We would like to invite our Otter families who own local businesses to get the first opportunity to be our t-shirt sponsors. Please contact jogathon@oakhillspto.org if you are interested or know of a business we should reach out to.Upcoming Events
