CBF General Assembly Is Just Two Weeks Away!
We are counting down the days to the CBF General Assembly and as we get closer we will be sharing some exciting updates about parts of the General Assembly the you won't want to miss!
This time, there are two updates we want to give you!
1. We are getting really close to meeting our goal of Alabama CBF being "ALL IN!" with 100% participation of our partner churches. We are still in need of volunteers. Volunteer shifts can be as short as 2 hours but those 2 hours make an enormous impact! Please consider signing up by following this link: General Assembly information page.
2. We want to make sure you have the Alabama CBF State meeting on your calendar. Our meeting will be at 3;30pm on Thursday, June 20. Make plans to join us!!
Apply To Be A Humphreys Ministerial Scholar
Alabama CBF is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Humphrey's Ministerial Scholarship.
This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a seminary degree, who have a connection to an Alabama CBF church, and are following the call of God upon their life in ministry.
The Coordinating Council for Alabama CBF voted unanimously to rename our Ministerial Scholarship Fund the Fisher and Caroline Humphreys Ministerial Scholarship Fund. We are excited to offer this tribute to the Humphreys for seminary students who are connected to one of our Alabama CBF churches.
The application deadline is June 28, 2919 and they are available online by visiting the Alabama CBF website. If you have any questions, please contact Terri Byrd.

Civil Rides Coming to Alabama
Civil Rides coming to Alabama and will travel through the Cotton Belt which will take riders from Montgomery, through Selma and Perry County to Birmingham on October 18-20.
Civil Rides raises awareness and money for persistent rural poverty in America and the issues that stem from it. We see poverty as a modern Civil Rights issue in America. Persistent rural poverty has the most basic needs for human existence at its center: food, water, and shelter (housing). We believe that people who live in the United States should not suffer under conditions where they are simply trying to survive. All proceeds from our rides go to Together for Hope, a rural development coalition, and Out Hunger, a hunger initiative. These two organizations exemplify what it means to be agents of transformation in the area of poverty relief and development.
