William and Mary Became Joint Soveriegns
In February 1689, William successfully invaded England, the so-called Glorious Revolution, where William and Mary replaced King James II (Mary's father).
Toleration Act
In 1689 William and Mary supported the Toleration Act. This was an act that gave freedom of worship to people who did not agree to the Church of England (nonconformist).
William III of England

Birth and Death
- William was born on November 14th, 1650 in the Netherlands.
- He died in 1702, years after his wife Mary.
- Mary was born on April 30th, 1662.
- She died in 1694 in London, England due to smallpox. She was in her mid 30's when she passed away and left William of England as an independent ruler.
