Clifton Hills Elementary School
The library curriculum introduces students in Kindergarten through second grade to the basics of library organization and seeks to broaden literary appreciation by introducing students to a variety of authors and books. Students in third through fifth grade focus on learning the basics of research using the Big6 Model. The Big6 Model is an inquiry based model that focuses on critical thinking as well as finding and using information to meet information needs. Each month we will explore one step of the Big6 Model. Library lessons will relate to topics being discussed in the classroom. Students will be assessed in a variety of ways. Please encourage your students to actively participate in library lessons. A detailed curriculum map is available upon request.
