How do we get our kids reading?

Make it a routine - whether it's right before the breakfast, or right before bed, set aside a special time every day.

What’s “Just Right”? Children feel confident and competent when they read books that are “just right.” But how do you find a “just right” book? Have your child read the back and front cover, and the first page of the book. If there are more than five words that he cannot pronounce or understand in context, the book may be too challenging. Be supportive about finding a more perfect fit. Choosing the right book will help your little reader feel successful.

Weekly activities:

  • Kona Ice is $2 and will be available on the last Wednesday of each month during recess.
  • PTSO snacks are $1 each are available EVERY Friday during recess.

Important Reminders

  • If you know your student will be absent please call the front office at 405-256-5250.

Robotics Camp Afterschool

Dec. 11 & 13 for ALL of 6th grade

We are having a 6th grade Robotics Camp on December 11 and 13. We plan to give them two days from 3:05-5:00 to explore by completing challenges in pairs then concluding it with a showcase on the second day from 5-5:30 where their families can come see what they have been doing.

In January we will repeat the process with 5th grade. We hope this will give every student in our building that wants to explore robotics the opportunity to do so.

The first 30 students from 6th grade to return this signed permission slip will be allowed to participate. Permission slips must be returned to Mrs. Edwards NO LATER than Monday, December 10, 2018 @ 3pm. Student will only be able to stay after school with this signed permission slip.

Lost and Found

We have a growing collection of lost items on the stage in the cafeteria. Please encourage your student to check the cafeteria if he or she is missing something. With coat season approaching, we will see more jackets and coats left around. Please write your student's name in his or her coat so if it is left around we can get it back to them promptly.

WE WILL BE DONATING ALL LOST AND FOUND ITEMS OVER CHRISTMAS BREAK!
