A Message from the Principal

Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,

Thank you all for participating in a great Catholic Schools Week last week! We had plenty of prayer time, Drop Everything and Read Time, Drop Everything and Dance Time, Silly Hat Day, a delicious Family Lunch (thank you Ms. Barker, Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Griffith, Mrs. Nappier, Mrs. Pierce, Mrs. Hiett and our 8th graders and Nolan alum volunteers) and two student service learning opportunities! Our students also wrote appreciation letters to their parents and other Catholic leaders in our Diocese.

Last Thursday our 8th graders prepared meals for the current residents of the Ronald McDonald House. On Friday our 7th and 8th graders participated in the Tarant Churches Together 8th Annual Sack Lunch Chuck Wagon and packed approximately 250 sack lunches for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo day laborers. Our 5th -8th graders also assisted the church by folding and stuffing church bulletins last week. These were great ways for our students to live into our motto of LEARN * SERVE * LEAD!

Safety is on all of our minds. Our school safety committee has been, and will continue to be, focused on assessing and implementing new campus safety measures. HFCS has purchased security cameras and is working with our IT consultant to incorporate the security camera system with the recently installed server. Once that process is complete, the physical cameras will be installed on campus, both inside and outside of the school building. I will keep you informed on the progress we make on this project and any other safety implementations.

The Agape Meal

Last Thursday, a handful of our sixth graders took Mrs. Morales up on her invitation to help serve The Agape Meal at Broadway Baptist Church. The Holy Family Community commits to helping and serving this meal every fifth Thursday to the homeless in our community and is different from most. Rather than a cafeteria or sack lunch style, they are served family-style with linen, silverware and dishes.

Another way our students live the Holy Family mission - Learn, Serve, and Lead.

Annual Appeal

HFCS participated in the "Day of Giving" on North Texas Giving Day back in September as a soft kickoff to our annual appeal. In December, we did a mailing with the formal ask of participating in our annual appeal. Our goal for this year is $25,000.

If you have not had the opportunity to participate in the appeal, please consider doing so today. Honestly, no amount is too small. With accreditation this spring, it would be wonderful to brag that we had 100% parent participation. Questions? Please contact Lisa Griffith at lgriffith@hfsfw.org or 817.737.4201.
