Counseling Corner - QUARTER 1 GRADES
Hello Ramsey Families,
Friday, November 12th marked the end of quarter one and as school staff work to finalize grades, we're asking families to let us know how they'd like to review their child's grades. Families can choose to view grades online at home (using Campus Portal), request to have a grades report sent directly to their email, or families can request that a printed grades report be given to their child who will then bring it home to families. Grades will be available after 9:00am on Monday, November 29th. Please let us know your preference by completing this short 3-question form below. Thank You.
Winter I Sports Starting Soon
Dear Ramsey Families,
We are excited to be able to offer middle school athletics this winter. As was the case this fall, there will be some changes that will allow students to participate in a modified athletics season.
Due to the continued shortage of school bus drivers, we are only able to provide after-school transportation for high school students at this time. This means that all SPPS middle school athletics will continue to have a modified intramural season this winter.
In light of this change, the winter activity fee is being reduced from $30 to $5. Students will need a current sports physical to participate in the winter season; please make an appointment with your physician or visit one of our SPPS Health Start Clinics.
Middle School Winter I Intramural Sports Start Dates:
Girls Basketball | Monday, November 22, 2021
Wrestling | Monday, November 22, 2021
Boys Basketball | Monday, January 24, 2022 - Sign-ups will be out in January
Athletics has received approval from senior leadership to allow 7th and 8th graders the opportunity to try out on a winter high school sports team, all levels (boys basketball, girls basketball, and wrestling). REMINDER: Students in the 7th and 8th grade are already able to tryout on a high school team for all sports not offered at the middle school level. PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION | Middle School Participation in High School Sports. If you have questions after reading the info/guidelines, please let me know.
Thank you for your understanding. We are looking forward to a different, but fun, winter season.

Hotspots & Internet Access
If you have an SPPS Hotspot at home that was checked out prior to September 2021, please send it to school with your student to be checked out again. Either the librarian or I can do it quickly and easily. On November 10th, Hotspots that have not been checked out again will be turned off. We want to support your Internet access at home, but we also want to be sure the Hotspots are still needed. By having everyone who still needs their Hotspot check it out again, we will ensure continued access for those who need it. If you do not have Internet access at home, please review the information at https://bit.ly/homeWiFi. Then you can let me know if a Hotspot or Comcast Internet Essentials is a better choice for your family.
Feel free to contact me with questions: email cara.hagen@spps.org or text (612) 568-2358.
Thank you,
Cara Hagen
