Good Evening Pershing Families!


Tomorrow evening, September 14th, at 6p.m. we will have our first PTO Meeting of the year, via Zoom. If you have not yet become a member of the PTO, please consider becoming a member today! Membership is now $10 per family. Visit the PTO store online to purchase a membership. Go to pto4pershing.com .


To join the PTO meeting on Zoom, either visit the PTO Facebook Page (you can be added to the private group once you are a paying member) or email Mrs. Shelton at kendra.shelton@sanjuan.edu anytime up to 1 hour before the meeting to have the Zoom link and password emailed to you. Parents must have a Zoom account to join any SJUSD Zoom meetings. Zoom accounts are free if you have your own email account.


School Site Council elections were postponed to this week. We have 3 open positions and 2 parents have been nominated. Parents, please vote as soon as possible by clicking this link: https://forms.gle/drCBJcNnkyy2PsrYA . Please vote for up to 3 candidates for the Pershing School Site Council. For more information about School Site Council, please visit: https://www.sanjuan.edu/domain/1286. Voting takes place from Sunday, September 13th through Wednesday, September 16th ending at 8p.m.

  • September 8: Student Materials Pick-Up for Grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th/5th combo (no material pick-up for TK, K, 4th RL, 5th or 6th grades) (see schedule below)
  • September 13 - 16: School Site Council Elections (see form above to vote)
  • September 14: PTO Meeting, 6p.m. - 7:30p.m. on Zoom
  • September 21: English Learner Advisory Committee Meeting at 6p.m. on Zoom
  • September 22: School Site Council Meeting at 7:15a.m. on Zoom
  • October 5: Non-Instructional Day (No School)
  • October 6 - 9: Progress Reports sent home for 1st - 6th grades
  • October 12: PTO Meeting, 6p.m. - 7:30p.m. on Zoom
  • November 11: Veterans Day (No School)
  • November 13: No School (Teacher Work-Day)
  • November 16 - 20: Parent-Teacher Conferences Week
