Learning Beyond the Building: Distributing Materials
Dear Alamos Families,
It is hard to believe that the final days of summer are coming to an end and the opening of a school year is about to begin. As you may have heard, the official first day of school has been changed from August 12th to Aug. 17th. This is the first time in history that schools in California will launch learning beyond the school building in a virtual platform. If you are like me, unknowns can bring worry, change can cause chaos, and well, to be honest, life is just easier when we know what to expect. So...expect the unexpected! The Alamos Team is excited to partner with you as we embark on this new venture. Together, Learning Beyond the Building is....Mission Possible!
Please read the following carefully as it contains specific information regarding the distribution of learning supplies, materials, and tech devices from the school site to students. The protocols outlined for you must be adhered to in order to maintain the safety and well-being of both staff and students and to be in compliance with state health orders. Please note that face coverings must be worn at all times while on campus and social distancing of at least 6 ft. is required.
SCHEDULE:
Beginning Thursday, August 13th through Friday, August 14th, we will be following a set schedule by STUDENT'S LAST NAME. To avoid the gathering of too many individuals in an enclosed space we ask that you follow the schedule below:
Thursday, August 13th:
Student's Last Name & Time
A - C --- 9:00 - 11:00
D - G --- 11:00 - 1:00
H - M -- 1:00 - 3:00
Friday, August 14th:
Student's Last Name & Time
N - Q --- 9:00 - 11:00
R - S --- 11:00 - 1:00
T - Z --- 1:00 - 3:00
PROCESS:
* Prior to your visit to campus on August 13th or 14th, please check Infinite Campus parent portal on Wednesday, August 12th to determine your student's teacher assignment and classroom number for the new school year. The classroom number will be important because you will be directed to the exterior of the classroom building to pick up learning supplies.
One family member and their student(s) may come on to campus during the scheduled time. Please bring an empty backpack, plastic crate, or bag to carry materials from school to home. Our gates in our front parking loop will be open and numbered 1-4. Gate one is located closest to the entrance of the loop and gate 4 is located at the end of our front loop area. You will be greeted at the gate by a member of our admin team, and a "runner" will retrieve materials from the classroom and place them on a desk located in the exterior hallway. You will be directed to take materials from the desk and exit campus. If you are picking up a device, please be sure to sign the yellow device care form (if not already completed previously online) located on top of the device and leave it on the desk for the runner to collect.
Enter GATE 1 for building housing classrooms 1-11.
Enter GATE 2 for building housing classrooms 12-23.
Enter GATE 3 for building housing classrooms 24-44.
Enter GATE 4 for building housing classrooms 48-51 (Preschool).
Please note that teachers will not be available for interaction as they are preparing for the opening of the school year. Our school office will be closed but support staff will be walking the campus to support you as needed.
PROTOCOLS:
Individuals, including staff, will not be permitted on campus without a mask. We would advise you to use hand sanitizer before coming on campus and again when returning home. If a line develops at any gate or desk, staff will direct individuals to maintain a six-foot spacing. Individuals are not permitted to access any other part of the campus, and there is no visiting while on campus. Please do not come earlier than the assigned time slot. In order for the process to work efficiently, we need your cooperation with the schedule, the process, and all protocols.
Certainly, this is not how we hoped to open our new school year but your patience, adherence to directives, flexibility, and understanding will help to ensure a safer process for everyone. I would encourage you to embrace with grace, this new way of learning as we navigate our way together! Please stay safe, take care, and be well.
Fondly, AES Admin Team;
Mrs. Jenniffer Aynesworth ~ Principal
Mrs. Cyndi Alvarado ~ Assistant Principal
Mrs. Janelle Peters ~ Preschool Assistant Principal
