Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
A student is more than a score! That is the message I always want our community to hear. Also, school climate has a direct correlation to student outcomes and success. I think that was proven once again this week when the state revealed our new school score and climate rating. We continue to be an A rated school with a 5 star climate and I am so proud of this accomplishment. I see the hard work our students put in day in and day out and it is so nice to be rewarded. Our CCRPI is not the end all be all measure, but if you were honest, it probably is something you took a close look at when deciding on where to purchase a home.
Early in my second year as principal of CCES, I woke up to an email one morning from someone concerned with the academic trajectory of our school. When asked what data that comment was based on, I really could never get a clear response. You know, that email is one I printed and read often. You may ask why, but it keeps me on track. I knew then and I know now, our school has seen steady academic progress under my leadership and I attribute that to the work that goes on behind the scenes daily from our staff. We are outperforming all elementary schools within a few miles from CCES. The chart below shows exactly what we have done for the last four years. Our teachers are the best in Fulton. We will hold our heads high daily because we have accomplished consistency and data that is positive for this community! We have clear goals and performance targets which we spoke of together this week and everyone in our school is committed to making sure ALL students succeed.
This week, we celebrated Red Ribbon Week and had so much fun dressing up to the daily themes. See a few pics below. I had the pleasure Wednesday of reading to the entire group of kindergartners in the Media Center. Your kids are super! They had so much to share that related to what they are learning in their own classrooms about Reading.
Our fifth graders are enjoying their overnight at Rock Eagle and return today. According to all reports, they have had a great time.
Finally, keep glowing! We reached our goal last night but still have until midnight to finish collecting. I am almost sad to see it end because each day brings so much joy to our school during Glo season. Parents, you’ve been amazing, so thank you for your support.
Next week, please remember there is no school on Tuesday, Election Day. Make sure to vote and teach our students about the process. They are never too young to learn how to make a difference. Friday will be our Glo For It celebration all day. Lunch schedules have been modified so make sure you are aware if you plan on visiting. See you around the school soon!
CCES 2nd graders give enjoyable performance
Congratulations to our Second Graders on their wonderful performance of “The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” on Tuesday. They did a wonderful job of singing, moving and playing instruments together to tell the story behind the classic nursery rhyme. The whole Second Grade team of teachers participated in the story, along with Mr. Abel (as the Old Woman) and a Big Shoe created by Mrs. Steffensen. It was great to see their team efforts come together.
Teachers recognized for student growth on Ga Milestones
Join me in congratulating our 4 highest growth teachers last year on the Georgia Milestones.
Our math teachers celebrated were Anne O’Connor and Katelynn Pappas. In ELA, Gabby Kroll and Megan Hanney received the honor.

Student Ambassadors' Food Drive Continues
The CCES Student Ambassadors have partnered with North Fulton Community Charities to provide Thanksgiving groceries to local families in need. You can help us support their efforts by donating non-perishable Thanksgiving food items. We will continue collecting food items through Wednesday, November 7th. Student Ambassadors will visit classes daily to gather food donation items from students. Thank you for your support as CCES joins this great cause to help those in need. See the list below for a list of suggested items.

Glo For It Ends Tonight!
Glo For It kicked off on October 19th! Fundraising ends tonight. We have our school wide celebration on November 9. The celebration will have a similar format as field day which is a wonderful event and a favorite of our children. By doing it during the day, every single student will be able to attend the celebration. We are so excited for this! We count on Glo For It funds to support many things that are not paid for by the county, including in-house field trips, curriculum support materials, books, technology, the science lab, and so much more!!
