December Newsletter

Merry December, Families!

Dear Families,

The Holiday Season is well under way here at Saint George School! Report cards will be distributed on Friday, December 14th. If you have any concerns about your child's grades, please reach out to his or her teacher. And, sweatshirt orders will be arriving later this month, just in time for Christmas break!

December is a special time of the year that often brings communities together. It is a time when we may look at all that God has blessed us with and a time to seek out ways to help those in need. In the spirit of Christmas, our Student Government Association and Community Service Corps have teamed up with Cradles to Crayons. See the flyer below for more information on how you can give back to those who need it most.

In January, classrooms will be competing against each other in a Box Tops War! The classroom with the MOST Box Tops will receive a Pizza Lunch and the student who collects the MOST Box Tops will receive a gift card for their extraordinary efforts! So, start clipping and saving those Box Tops - We can't wait to see who collects the most!

May you have a Merry and Blessed Christmas this year!

Faculty Spotlight

Miss Merriman, First Grade

We are happy to welcome Miss Merriman to our family this year! Miss Merriman's favorite animal is a golden retriever, especially her own pup, Rory. And did you know that Miss Merriman is a HUGE Eagles fan? Hopefully she still is a fan by the end of this season :) Welcome, Miss Merriman and thank you for making learning fun for our first graders. Anyone who stops by your classroom immediately notices how engaged our little ones are while Miss Merriman teaches.

Miss Strain, Second Grade

Miss Strain has returned to us again this year and we couldn't be happier! As you may know, Miss Strain is a graduate of Saint George School. Second grade won the Friends of Saint George Pumpkin decorating contest in October and beautifully decorated turkeys for our November bulletin board! Keep inspiring our second graders' creativity, Miss Strain!

Madrinas Program at SGS

The Madrinas Program at Saint George School is coordinated by our Spanish Instructor, Ms. Celeste Colon. Together, we will work to welcome families of different cultural backgrounds into our faith-centered educational community.
