TIME TO RETURN LIBRARY BOOKS!
Time to gather up library books and return them to school. Look for the Rock Creek barcode on the front of the book it will also have a call number on the spine (which makes looking on bookshelves easier) or if it is a thin book on the front left bottom.
We will still have curbside checkout on Thursday June 3rd 2:45 - 4:00.
(Beginning June 1st thru June 4th checkout will be limited to two books checked out per student.)

June 10th I will be in front of the school for book returns from 2:45 - 5:30. You can also pick up a DISCARD bundle at that time.
I will be sending out overdue notices every week through the end of the year so that you know what books need to come back.
Discard books are yours to keep, they are books that have been well used and replaced with new books. When you are done with them, please pass them on to someone else to read.

PARENTSQUARE
The Beaverton School District is very excited to be adopting a new and improved platform for communication. Beginning June 28th, we’ll be transitioning to a product called ParentSquare to keep families better informed. ParentSquare will replace SchoolMessenger and any other texting/messaging apps like Remind or Talking Points that individual schools and teachers may be using. It will not replace ParentVUE, StudentVUE, Canvas or Seesaw.
ParentSquare provides a safe way for administrators, teachers, staff and parents to:
- Send and receive district, school and class information in your preferred language
- Share pictures and files
- See calendar items
- Sign up for conferences
- And much more… all in one place!
ParentSquare Parent Videos
Padres — Introducción a ParentSquare
District, school, grade level and classroom information will be sent to your computer and/or phone via email and/or text. Or you can download the free iOS or Android app.
ParentSquare has a familiar design, similar to a social media feed. Families will only receive notifications that are relevant to their students. In addition to district- and school-wide messaging, teachers and staff will have access to two-way messaging with real-time translation. Families will be able to receive and send information in their chosen languages.
You don’t need to take any action to receive emails, texts or phone calls prior to the July 1 launch. Our student information system will sync contact information directly with ParentSquare. If you’d prefer to use the app, simply download it from the app store on or after July 1 and follow the prompts.
To learn more about ParentSquare, visit our webpage: https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/parentsquare
Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.

OREGON APPROVED FOR P-EBT
Oregon Approved for P-EBT
The State of Oregon received approval from the federal government to issue Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) for the 2020-21 school year. Oregon was approved to provide retroactive food benefits to eligible students for the 2020-21 school year. The P-EBT benefits are expected to be issued beginning in July.
All students and children (ages 1-18) will continue to receive free meals through June 30, regardless of Meal Benefits eligibility. If you wish to receive P-EBT money in addition to food, please visit the Pandemic EBT webpage to see if your family qualifies. Qualifying for free or reduced meals for the 2020-21 school year before June 30 will ensure that you receive P-EBT when the benefits are issued.
¡Buenas noticias!

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
to help all have a healthy, happy, fun-filled summer!
P – Polite: Respect all road users.
A – Alert: Keep your eyes, ears and brain open and ready.
L – Legal: Obey all signs and signals, know your rights AND responsibilities.
S – Safe: Know your abilities to make good choices.
This summer try mapping your route to school, community center, pool or park. List positives
and negatives about the trip. What can you/we do to make it better? Try writing a letter to
your local newspaper or school teacher about where you’ve gone, how many miles traveled,
and what improvements you’d like to see on those routes. Maybe we can make them better!
