December 2020: From The Principal's Office
I want to extend a 'Thank you' to our Gilder families for being so cautious and mindful throughout this time. When you have noticed symptoms or or have been exposed you have followed the guidelines to ensure that spread does not happen at Gilder. We at Gilder cannot express our gratitude enough to you for being so alert and dependable.
As we head into December we prepare for colder weather bringing us indoors and closer together. Please remain safe; hand washing and mask wearing are important now more than ever.
If you feel your family will need some assistance throughout the break please let us know.
Have a wonderful winter break, remain well and we will see you in January of 2021. - Mrs. Schmidt

Counselor's Corner
Dear Parents,
With students in Remote Learning or attending school only 2-3 days, there may be some needs that I have not been made aware of.
Woodhouse provides a small bag of food for the weekend which is easy for students to prepare and enjoy. If your family has experienced hardships because of limited work or no work, please call my office if you would like your child to receive these weekly food bags.
There are also two programs that are offering rent assistance. If you live in Douglas, Sarpy, Iowa, or Pottawattamie County you are eligible to apply. You can call, (531) 200-3500. There is a short screening, and then they set up an appointment for an additional interview.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach me at (531) 299-7280. We do not have a Social Worker at Gilder, but I can always contact one at another OPS school.

Attendance
We want to provide a reminder that attendance is taken every day for all students. This includes learners utilizing 100% remote instruction and students participating in the family 3/2 model.
Any day a student is remote, the child needs to log in for the morning meeting by 8:50.
6th Grade students log in at 9:45 after their Specials.
If a child misses the morning meeting, he or she will be marked absent.
If a child is going to be absent for any reason (illness, appointment, technical issues, etc.), please notify the main office 531.299.1500.
We are off to an amazing start, Gilder Greats!
A Gilder GREAT Arrival

- If your child is not eating breakfast they enter through the northwest entrance #18.
