PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Good afternoon Parents, Caregivers and Children,

The first 2 weeks back onsite with children have been very settled. This is a direct result of the time and energy our team put into preparing their programmes and learning environments to be ready for when our young ones walked through the gates. In addition, I would like to acknowledge our young ones who have arrived back with an excellent attitude. We are grateful to have you back as I know many of you are also happy to be back at school with your friends.

Tuesday last week we held an 'in house' Mihi Whakatau to welcome our new children to the Endeavour Learning Community. While low key in nature it was a special occasion for us as a school, in particular our new tamariki.

Over the past few days I would like to acknowledge our team and children for the way they have focussed on the core purpose of school and continued to take on and enjoy the challenge of learning. As a society we are constantly faced with wide and varied distractions, some are necessary to engage with and others are not. Over the past few days we have experienced both. What has impressed me is that while this outside noise has made its way into our inner circle, we have not let it impact our learning, which at times is not easy. So a big well done to all.

Last Thursday we were able to host our Meet the Teacher Whaanau Picnic. With over 50 families in attendance it was a lovely afternoon to picnic, chat and have the children play outdoors. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with current whaanau, meeting new families, making new connections. Thank you to all those that attended.

Finally, I would like to thank you for the little offers of support we have received since the start of the year, they are much appreciated by the team. Like always if there is anything you would like to touch base about please feel free to do so. We always welcome the conversation.

Warm regards,

Geoff
