YouthWorks offers several types of summer staff positions/internships. Impact America Corps Member (December Start)
Position Description: AmeriCorps Members serving with Impact America engage with communities through two of Impact’s initiatives: SaveFirst and FocusFirst. SaveFirst provides free tax preparation to facilitate economic improvement for working families. FocusFirst ensures that children in urban and rural communities receive comprehensive vision care during their crucial formative years. Individuals who serve as a Corps Member with Impact America spend a term of service after graduation at a nationally recognized organization working to mitigate the effects of poverty, while also gaining professional experience and a broadened perspective. Corps Members execute SaveFirst and FocusFirst as well as recruit and manage the service of college students as they participate in those initiatives.

Internship in Education/Nonprofit/Social Services Field: After-School Programs (Position for 2017-2018 Fall and/or Spring Semester)
Position Description: Agape is seeking interns interested in careers in the Education and/or Non-Profit fields. The After-School Intern works closely with the Program Coordinator to implement a wide variety of recreational and educational activities, community partnerships, and ensures a high-quality program is delivered daily. This internship is available throughout the 2017-2018 school year and requires a minimum commitment of one semester. Positions are considered for renewal upon a satisfactory semester-end review.

Students will learn how to create an appropriate work wardrobe on a "college budget." Students will also learn how to succeed in the workplace including meeting etiquette, the use of social media, and how to navigate work social interactions such as happy hours and business travel. Additionally, students will explore ways to successfully navigate generational work differences and styles.

After attending this program, you will have an understanding of implicit bias and why this issue is important to professional success, have the ability to gauge issues of bias and inclusivity during the job search process, and have knowledge of strategies for helping to cultivate a more inclusive work environment.
