What is Pop Art?
Pop Art is an art that expresses fun and excitment. The art is very colourful and based around real life things. For example this (left) is a piece of artwork by Roy Lichtenstein. He has taken an image from a comic strip and made it more colourful and exciting.
Pop Art began in the mid 1950s to early 1970s. Some people say it was a result of Expressionism.
Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol is an American Pop artist. He was born in 1928 and died in 1987. Some of his bits of artwork were Campbell's soup cans, Eight Elvis's and Moon museum.
Roy Lichtenstein
Roy Lichtenstein was an american Pop artist. He was born in 1923 and died in 1997. Some of his pieces of artwork are Whaam!, Crying Girl and Little big painting. Roy Lichtenstein was an artist who often di pieces of artwork based on comic strips.
